4 Affordable, Must-Carry Products for Your Purse

Even though sometimes I wish that I could – I can’t carry ALL of the products I have around with me all day, every day. (Well….I guess I could but it would be super inconvenient, and my purse would have to be huge.)  The more I experiment with different beauty products, the more appreciation I develop for the ones that I always go back to, aka. the products I will always throw into my bag before I head out the door.

So without further ado, here are my essentials:

1. Lip Balm. No matter what time of year, I always keep a lip balm (or two!) on hand – erm, I guess you could say “on lip.” My fav right now is Burt’s Bees in Mint Cocoa.

Price: $3.99
Where to Get It: Almost any drugstore sells this brand – CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens – or Walmart.

2. A Natural Shade of Matte Lip Color. I love having a matte shade of barely-there matte lip color for those moments when I need to amp up my look a little. Choosing a color that’s within 2 shades of your natural lip color is like wearing a kitten heel –  a little little less va-va-voom than a super saturated lipstick, but it has a little more oomph than a balm. I’ve tried a bunch of matte lip creams, but I always find myself going back to Revlon’s Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor.  They have a great range of colors, and the shade Devotion is the perfect blush for my pout.

Price: $9.99
Where to Get It: Ulta Beauty (Ulta is where I usually go because they always seem to have it on sale, but you can get your Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor at most any drugstore)

3. Moisturizer. I have combination skin that is dry in patches (especially in the winter!) and oily in others. My regular moisturizer does a really great job at addressing those concerns, but I hate looking in the mirror and seeing those little dry skin flakes around my mouth or between my eyebrows, so I like to be able to apply a little moisturizer to those spots. Since I only need this once in a while and only the teeniest bit, I buy a travel-sized moisturizer for easier storage. Right now I have the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel by Clinique and it’s lasted me forever.

4. Transluscent Face Powder. Like I mentioned above, I have combination skin that is both oily and dry.  I tend to get oily in my T-zone, and on the sides of my nose. I always carry a Transluscent Powder from Physicians Formula with me.  It’s perfect because the compact has a mirror and powder puff – great for little touchups on the go.
